As I am writing this it is snowing outside and beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

We are preparing for a late night visitor.

Dianne has been getting the house ready. Our fireplace is decorated. The Santa in the last picture is a closeup of the one sitting on the mantel.

The living room is lush with poinsettias, a wreath, and all the plants Dianne normally has.

The music boxes are unpacked and decorating the desk.

Rather than having a tree this year Dianne put a poinsettia in the front window.

Our front hall welcomes you with fresh greenery and decorations.

Outside the decorations are simple with a wreath and a few lights.

I've decorated the outside of my office cube with Dilbert and Dogbert lights. (Blogger's spell checker recognises Dilbert but not Dogbert.)

Behind the light is a copy of a 1954 Chrysler promotion "Chrysler Parade of Cars". I copied the pictures off of http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1955/55Parade/index.htm. The easiest way to explain it is to copy what the Imperial Club wrote.

"In late 1954, Fritzie Stolz received a wonderful Christmas present from Chrysler. Enclosed is Chrysler's Parade of Cars along with a letter inviting his parents to see the new Forward-Look cars. Each card was 8.5" x 3.5"."

Each image could be cut out, and tabs bent back so that is would stand up.

The first closeup has the following from left to right, as quoted from the back of the cards.
CHRYSLER CORPORATION KILTIE BAND...
as seen in the 1954 J. L. Hudson Company Department Store "Thanksgiving Day Santa Parade" brought to you on television from Detroit by Chrysler Corporation.

1955 IMPERIAL NEWPORT...
as seen in the 1954 "Thanksgiving Day Santa Parade" brought to you on television from Detroit by Chrysler Corporation.

SANTA'S SLEIGH FLOAT...
as seen in the 1954 J. L. Hudson Company Department Store "Thanksgiving Day Santa Parade" brought to you on television from Detroit by Chrysler Corporation.

You get the idea. This next set contains the Dodge convertible, and my favorite the "SPACE SHIP X-101 FLOAT". Underneath each car picture is a plug for TV shows Chrysler sponsored.

I hope to do better at updating what we are doing.
